Fall, Friends, and a Taste of the Tour

It’s fall, and I’ve been busy with more things than I’ll burden you with right now! So far, I’m managing to keep up with all my deadlines — including one I almost forgot about. Thankfully, I got a reminder email (and actually read it!).

That email reminded me to deliver a piece to Blue Line Arts in Roseville for the Taste of the Tour exhibition.

Reserves of Strength is part of the Taste of the Tour at Blue Line Arts, on exhibit now.

This annual show features artwork from all of the artists and venues participating in the Placer Artists Tour, happening November 7–9, 10 a.m.–5 p.m. each day. And yes, yours truly is one of those artists! I’ll be spending the weekend showing my work at my friend Angela Joy Houk’s house in Roseville, where she’s just finished building her beautiful new art studio.

Angela and I both share a love of nature and work in mixed media, but our styles are quite different, which makes for a wonderfully varied and inspiring viewing experience. Together, we’ll have both two- and three-dimensional works, ranging from small to large pieces, perfect for gift giving or for adding something special to your personal collection.

Angela describes herself as “a perpetually curious person who loves to wonder, wander, read, ask questions, and make things.” She delights in exploring the beauty and mystery of everyday life through her creative process and in sharing what she discovers along the way. It’s truly a joy to be her friend — and her regular walking companion.

The Taste of the Tour reception is a great opportunity to preview the art that will be featured on the tour and to meet many of the participating artists. It takes place Saturday, October 18, from 5–7 p.m. at Blue Line Arts in Roseville.

I’d love to see you there — and again during the tour weekend!
