I finally said yes…
Two new workshops coming this summer!
For years, people have asked me how I create my artwork. I usually explain that I start with a collage base on wood panel, add gesso, transfer my own photos using acrylic medium, and then build up layers with colored pencil, paint, and more collage.
The next question is very often: “Do you teach this?”
Up until now, the answer has been no. But I’m so excited to say that’s changing - starting this summer.
1. No Rules Art Journaling (Online)
This new series explores the art journaling process that fuels my finished pieces. Think of it like the beginner photography class I teach at Sierra College, only without the grades or quizzes.
To kick things off, I’ve created a FREE mini-workshop just for you: Three Quick Starts for Journal Pages
This is a great way to dip your toes in and see what’s coming. I’ve already outlined 8 or 9 sessions I plan to release over the next year, all rooted in creativity, exploration, and giving yourself permission to play.
2. In-Person Photo Transfer + Layers Workshop
I’m also planning a two-day, hands-on workshop in my home studio, tentatively set for July 25–26 (Friday evening & Saturday). We’ll dive into photo transfers, layering techniques, and the creative process that I use in my finished artworks.
Space will be very limited, and as a blog reader or email subscriber, you get first dibs. If you’re interested, email me directly or reply to your subscriber email to reserve a spot before I open it to the public.
Thank you, truly, for being part of this creative journey. I’m so looking forward to sharing more of my process with you—and I hope you’ll join me in one (or both!) of these upcoming adventures.
